Scarnecchia Chiropractic & Wellness (SCW) is committed to providing Dilworth and greater Charlotte area residents with integrative medicine solutions for a variety of health issues. We reserve adequate one-on-one physician time to discuss and evaluate your unique condition. All treatment plans are highly personalized making use of current and evidence-based techniques. Treatment plans may include, but are not limited to, a combination of soft tissue therapy, chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture.
We treat all patients, regardless of age and ability, with the same high level of care. Our Services
Chiropractic Manipulation
Often referred to as an adjustment, manipulation is the most common therapeutic procedure performed by Doctors of Chiropractic. Chiropractic Manipulation allows for the release of joint restrictions, occurring due to poor posture, muscular imbalances, improper movement patterns, and/or trauma.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft tissue therapies makes use of manual techniques to address muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. These help to relieve trigger points, increase range of motion, break up adhesions and relieve pain. Techniques may include massage, myofascial release, post-isometric relaxation (PIR), and instrument assisted soft tissue therapies.
Functional Rehabilitation
Improper movement patterns often lead to dysfunction, pain and decreased performance. Functional assessment and movement patterns are used to prescribe exercises on an individual basis. These exercises are used to improve balance, coordination, strength, stability, and endurance in an effort to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury.
Acupuncture
The healing methodology of acupuncture is primarily achieved through the use of very thin, sterile, disposable needles inserted superficially into specific locations on the body known as acupuncture points. The points lie on channels, referred to as meridian systems, and have specific energetic properties to balance the energy or "Qi" in your body. By stimulating the appropriate acupuncture points for your condition, the energy is balanced and health is restored.
Webster Technique for Pregnancy
A specific technique is used as a means of safe analysis and adjusting during pregnancy. This gentle therapy is performed for musckuloskeletal complaints and to promote optimal pelvic positioning for the baby. Webster Technique is used in combination with other services provided at SCW to promote a healthy pregnancy for mom and baby.
Pediatric Care
Chiropractic care for children makes use of safe and gentle techniques to support and positively influence a growing child. Techniques include adjustments, acupressure, and nutritional counseling.
Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT)
The McKenzie Method, or Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), is a systematic approach to classification and treatment of the spine. MDT emphasizes patient education and active patient involvement in treatment to decrease pain and restore proper function. MDT may be beneficial in spinal conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, radiating pain/numbness of the arm or leg, herniated discs, and sciatica.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape is an elastic type of athletic tape designed to aid in healing. It may be used to assist in proper biomechanics, promote fluid movement, and/or reduce imbalances. Its unique and natural design allows for support and stability without restricting movement.

The Doctors of SCW
Victor A. Scarnecchia, D.C., CSCS
Victor A. Scarnecchia, D.C., CSCS, is a trained and licensed chiropractic physician and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He completed his B.A. at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his Doctorate of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. In addition, he completed his CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
As a chiropractor and trainer, Dr. Scarnecchia uses his extensive knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics to approach each patient’s painful and functionally limiting conditions. Dr. Scarnecchia has advanced training in sports and functional rehabilitation, Motion Palpation, McKenzie Therapy and Kinesio Taping. He also took part in a global health internship in Nicaragua. He encourages patients to participate in their recovery, providing rehabilitation exercises to treat and prevent further injuries. Dr. Scarnecchia continues to expand his education as a means to further help his patients. He is passionate about helping patients of all ages and abilities achieve their health related goals.
In his free time, Dr. Scarnecchia enjoys all types of outdoor activities. His hobbies include recreational sports, hiking, skiing and biking.
Bailey Zimmel, D.C., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.
Bailey Zimmel, D.C., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)®, is a trained and licensed chiropractic physician and acupuncturist. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh and her Doctor of Chiropractic and Master of Science in Acupuncture degrees from National University of Health Sciences. Dr. Zimmel has extensive training in pediatric and maternal health, including Webster Technique, as well as Motion Palpation, McKenzie Therapy and Kinesio Taping.
The core of Dr. Zimmel’s treatment philosophy incorporates and balances Eastern and Western medical practices, while guiding her patients towards a healthier and more conscious lifestyle. Her clinical experience includes successfully helping patients find relief from acute and chronic pain; maintaining healthy and comfortable pregnancies; co-managing infertility cases; providing nutritional guidance and treatments for pediatric conditions; and managing stress and anxiety related-disorders. She has also completed a global health internship in Nicaragua and rotations in the anesthesiology and pain management clinic at Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, IL. Her time spent working in conjunction with anesthesiologists at Stroger Hospital, further solidified her beliefs in a complementary and integrative approach to medicine.
When Dr. Zimmel is not in the office, she enjoys yoga, good coffee, and exploring the Charlotte area with Victor and their two dogs, Dolan and Piper.
